About the Programme
Born in 2022 out of a desire to develop our junior touch footy stars of tomorrow, the Townsville Saints Junior Representative Programme now sees Townsville Touch Football entering Townsville Saints sides into regional and state level representative events, the NQ Junior State Cup North (JSCN) and QLD Junior State Cup (QJSC).
All players in the Saints programme compete in one of several Townsville Saints teams at the NQ Junior State Cup North (JSCN) event each April, where they will then be considered for selection into the Townsville Saints sides to attend the QLD Junior State Cup (QJSC) in July.
Townsville Touch Football enter as many teams into each age division at the JSCN event as possible, in order to give as many players as possible the experience of playing in a guided representative programme. One or two teams (at most) are then selected in each age division to attend the QJSC.
Teams for the QJSC event in July will only be selected from those who participate in the Saints programme. Players wishing to be considered for selection into Townsville Saints teams to compete at the QJSC (July) MUST play for Townsville at JSCN (April) in the same year. Players who are also eligible to play for other associations that choose not to join the Saints programme are not eligible for selection.
To be considered for selection into the programme, a player must:
- Play in either the current or most recent Townsville Touch Football season (Colliers Shield, weeknight competitions, junior competitions);
- Complete the online EOI process; and then
- Attend the Selection Muster on the advertised date.

Players
For the 2026 programme, only Under 12's and Under 14's age groups will muster, with Under 16's and 18's age groups entering the programme directly into training in early February.
JUNIOR 12's & 14's MUSTER will be held at Queens Park on Saturday 8 November 2025, from 3pm to 7pm.

Referees
In partnership with the Townsville Touch Referees Association, from 2025 the Saints programme has been expanded to include referees! The referee programme is a flexible format that allows either direct entry ("Tier 1" or "Tier 3"), or to transfer in after April for players/coaches who aren't selected for a QLD Junior State Cup team ("Tier 2"). Referees across all three tiers receive the same access to coaching and development.
- Tier 1 is for referees who want to referee at both the NQ Juniors (Townsville) in April and the QLD Junior State Cup (Redlands) in July;
- Tier 2 is for referees who want to play/coach in April but referee at the QLD Junior State Cup (Redlands) in July.
- Tier 3 is for referees who only want to referee at the NQ Juniors (Townsville) in April
