The National Touch League is the chance for you to represent Townsville on the national stage, with Townsville Saints teams taking on the best touch footy teams from across Australia!

Cost

Travel & Accommodation

Players will be required to make their own travel arrangements between Townsville and Coffs Harbour. Where possible, TTF will assist teams to hire vehicles for travel between Brisbane Airport and Coffs Harbour.

Accommodation will be the responsibility of each team and TTF will assist with making group bookings where possible.

Player Levies

Touch Football Australia will charge each player a registration fee to compete in the event. Townsville Touch Football will charge a fee per player, in order to cover the costs of transport, accommodation, and some costs such as sports trainers, tent hire, etc.. These fees will be determined and advised closer to the event.

Eligibility

To be eligible to play for Townsville at the 2025 NTL "The Championships", a player must:

  1. be a fully registered and financial member of Townsville Touch Football (i.e. not owe any money to TTF, or to one of its member clubs);
  2. have played at least five (5) games in the current or previous calendar year
    1. in the one team
    2. in the one division/grade
    3. in the one competition
    4. in the one season
  3. and be either:
    1. a currently registered as a player in any of the following competitions:
      • 2024 Colliers Shield
      • 2024 Winter Mixed (Monday nights)
      • 2024 Veterans (Tuesday nights)
      • 2024 Summer Mixed (Monday nights)
      • 2024 Summer Men's Open, Men's 20's, or Men's 30's (Wednesday nights)
      • 2024 Juniors (Thursday nights)
    2. or, a "home grown player", i.e. played their first representative match for Townsville, or a TTF-aligned club at a regional or state event, who has satisfied all criteria in (2), above.
Team Numbers

A maximum of sixteen (16) players can be registered to each team, however only fourteen (14) will be permitted to play in a match. A team's Coach and Manager will be responsible for ensuring all players are registered correctly, and for ensuring that each player competes in the required number of matches to remain eligible to play in the finals series.

Selection Process

The selection process for each team will depend on the number of available players, and will incorporate performance of players at the 2023 QLD State Cup.
